Conditions We Treat
Men's Vascular Conditions We Treat
Aria Vascular specializes in two primary men’s health conditions where minimally invasive treatment offers significant advantages over traditional surgical approaches.
Enlarged Prostate (BPH)
Benign prostatic hyperplasia causes the prostate to press against the urethra, creating frustrating urinary symptoms that disrupt daily life and sleep.
- Frequent urination, especially at night
- Difficulty starting or stopping urination
- Weak or interrupted urine stream
- Incomplete bladder emptying
- Sudden strong urge to urinate
- Urinary leakage or dribbling
- Recurrent urinary tract infections
Varicocele
Enlarged veins within the scrotum — similar to varicose veins — that cause discomfort and are found in up to 40% of men evaluated for infertility.
- Dull aching or heaviness in the testicle
- Discomfort after standing or activity
- Worsens throughout the day
- Visible enlarged veins in scrotum
- Testicular atrophy (shrinkage)
- Reduced sperm count or motility
- Male infertility
Our Procedures
Minimally Invasive Treatments at Aria Vascular
Prostate Artery Embolization (PAE)
PAE is a minimally invasive, image-guided procedure that reduces prostate size and relieves BPH symptoms without surgery. Performed through a small catheter inserted at the wrist or groin, PAE blocks blood supply to the prostate — causing it to shrink and reducing pressure on the urethra.
Clinical studies show 75–90% symptom improvement with results comparable to surgical TURP — but with far less risk and a dramatically shorter recovery.
- No surgical incision
- No general anesthesia
- Sexual function preserved
- No retrograde ejaculation risk
- Same-day discharge
- 3–5 day recovery
- Works for large prostates
- Most insurance covered
Varicocele Embolization
Varicocele embolization is a minimally invasive alternative to surgical varicocelectomy. Using image guidance, a catheter is guided to the abnormal testicular veins and a coil or sclerosing solution is used to permanently block them — redirecting blood flow through healthy vessels and relieving congestion.
Comparable success rates to surgery, with key advantages: no incision, no general anesthesia, home same day, and 1–2 day recovery vs. 1–2 weeks for surgery. Can improve sperm parameters and fertility outcomes in 3–6 months.
- No surgical incision
- Outpatient — home same day
- 1–2 day recovery
- No hydrocele risk
- Same-day discharge
- 3–5 day recovery
- Improves fertility
- Relieves chronic pain
