Dr. Herscu is a board-certified Vascular and General Surgeon, who has practiced in Northern California since 2012. He specializes in comprehensive treatment of Vascular Disease with Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Interventional techniques. He is the Chief of Vascular Surgery at San Joaquin General Hospital and practices at Saint Joseph’s Medical Center in Stockton.
Dr. Herscu graduated from University of California, Irvine School of Medicine. He then trained in general surgery at University of California, Irvine Medical Center and completed a vascular surgery fellowship training at University of Southern California Medical Center and Los Angeles County Hospital.
Dr. Herscu founded the limb salvage multidisciplinary program at San Joaquin General Hospital, specializing in treatment for diabetic limb salvage, chronic wound management and functional outcomes for patients with advanced limb disease.
Prior to moving his practice to San Joaquin County, he led the Vascular Surgery Program at Washington Hospital, in Fremont, California. He founded the complex aortic program there, collaborating with specialists from UCSF and others for treatment of advanced aortic pathology.
Dr. Herscu has a background in engineering and brings advanced, innovative solutions to the treatment of complex vascular conditions from the base of the skull to the tips of the toes. He also serves as Program Director for the San Joaquin General Hospital Surgical Residency training program, which trains the next generation of surgeons for our community.
